Foundation Makeup

Powder makeup come in two different textures:
  • loose
  • compact

You might ask which one would be better. My answer is both. They are both good as
long as they meet your skin needs. That's why when you look for a powder make up
you have to keep in mind 3 things:

  • It has to be the right texture for your skin type;
  • It has to give you the coverage that you want. Some people need more
    coverage, others less;
  • It has to be a very soft finish;

As I said on the Mineral Makeup page all the big brands on the market have minerals
in their powder make-up. They come in different formulas for each skin type.

It's very important to custom fit your makeup powder, not only the colour but the
texture as well. For example, if someone has an oily skin the make up powder should
be oil free and it's even better if it has the right ingredients for absorbing the excess
of oil on your skin.

Some customers asked me "Is it absolutely necessary to use a make-up powder as
long as I use a makeup foundation? My answer is "Yes, you do!".

The powder makeup helps the foundation to set and takes the shine away. Now,
some people have very dry skin. The shine is not one of their concerns. And some
women don't want to wear to many makeup layers on their face. It's fine.

I always say don't use what you don't really need or want.

How to apply a make up powder?

Whether it's loose or compact the best way to apply the powder is with a powder
brush. The better quality the brush is, the better finish will be. The compact powder
is very easy to carry in your purse and you can use the sponge for a touch up during
the day.
